All-on-4 Dental Implants

If you are missing all of your teeth, you are probably experiencing compromised dental function and feeling self-conscious about your smile.

We offer treatment using All-on-4® dental implants, which can support a full-arch denture using just four specially placed implants.

Learn how Drs. Healy and Hurtado at the Oral Surgery and Dental Implant Center of Santa Fe can transform your smile with All-on-4 implants.

Why Choose Full-Arch Restoration
Using the All-on-4 Technique?

Though our traditional dental implants made from zirconia and an implant-supported denture are a great solution for widespread tooth loss, not all patients qualify. Fortunately, All-on-4 dental implants can support your denture while offering unique benefits, such as:

Improved Candidacy

Traditional dental implant-supported dentures are the best way to treat tooth loss—unless you have experienced advanced jaw atrophy, a natural side effect of tooth loss. By angling the posterior implants to achieve maximum surface contact with the bone tissue of the jaw, this solution can often support dentures right away, without the need for bone grafting.

Less Cost and Time

Traditional dental implant techniques can be expensive and time-consuming. Treatment with All-on-4 implants comes at a reduced cost, it often eliminates the need for preparatory surgery, the treatment process is shorter, and you can wear implant-supported dentures during the recovery period.

Quicker Relief

Because the innovative All-on-4 technique involves placing specially designed dental implants at angles that maximize contact with bone tissue, they are immediately stable enough to support a full denture, allowing you to leave our office with a complete and functional smile. You would have to wait several months for traditional dental implants to integrate with the jaw and become able to support your restoration.

Should you ever need oral surgery, this is the place to go!  I’ve had a dental implant in another city with a highly qualified oral surgeon and my second one with Dr. Healy.  There is NO comparison!  You’re in really great hands here.  Highly recommended!

I had a great experience, nervous at first, really friendly staff.  Able to get my tooth out and an implant placed the same day, even had a temporary tooth made that same day.  Great experience.  Highly recommend them

What Are All-on-4 Implants?

The All-on-4 concept typically involves four titanium implant posts per dental arch to secure dentures in place; however, we may use a different number to support your dentures, depending on your dental health and the structure of your jaw. On your lower jaw, we may use three to four dental implants. On your upper jaw, we may elect to position five implants for enhanced stability. Even with this small number of implants, we can replace every tooth on the upper and lower arches with dentures.

Completing Surgery

We will close the incisions with dissolvable stitches and have you bite down on a piece of gauze to control bleeding. We can also place a temporary restoration provided by your dentist for you to wear during recovery. At this point, you can return home. We will provide special instructions to ensure a safe recovery.

Healing and Recovery

Though most patients feel completely recovered from All-on-4 surgery after a week or two, it takes four to six months for the implants to fuse with the surrounding bone tissue and become stable.

An Alternative Option:
Advanced Zygomatic Implants

If you have suffered severe bone recession, you may have been told that you are not a candidate for any type of implant-supported dentures. Zygomatic implants may be the solution, offering support for a prosthetic on your upper dental arch.

zygomatic implants

We will insert these longer implants into your cheekbones, rather than your jawbone. Thus, we can eliminate the need for bone grafting or a sinus lift. These preparatory surgeries typically require an additional six to 12 months of recovery before you can receive your implants.

Zygomatic implants also have a higher success rate than traditional implants combined with a graft or sinus lift. Dr. Healy and Dr. Hurtado will use our advanced technology to evaluate your jawbone health. Then they can determine whether All-on-4 or zygomatic implants are right for you.
